Canada Day at Bowen Market

The Bowen Market is officially in full swing. Once again the hubbub of vendors came out of hibernation and worked like crazy to set up their tables before the crowds arrived. It always takes a bit longer to set up the first display of the season at Bowen. Unlike an indoor display, one must carefully prepare for the potential damage of the winds that can strike at any given moment.

Rumour was told that a group of cruise ship travelers would be flown in by seaplane to Bowen Island for an excursion of hiking, biking or kayaking. The pressure was on to get as much product out on the table, as market coordinator, Basia Lieske screamed out at us. Imagine Ty Pennington from Extreme Home Makeover...only she didn't need a bull-horn!

Beautiful, exotic, ebony-skinned women from Jamaica and the Virgin Islands came in droves, swarmed our table and practically threw their money at us! Somewhere on the open waters of the Pacific are a group of Caribbean Queens looking mighty fine, sparkling in Izzy & Buds adornments.
